Since quite a few people ask about this...

Q. How do I register/change my bank card details on my My 48 account?

A. To do this you go here:

https://www.48months.ie/my-48/my-card

At the time of writing the option to register/change bank card details is only available on the website version of your My 48 account - it is not available from the Android/iOS app.

Hope this helps.

Need Help With Your Service?

Having trouble getting online? If you’ve just joined us, or have a new phone, you may need to update your settings.

Why waste time entering all the settings manually when it could just take you a few clicks! You can get all the settings you need via “My 48”. Click this link to start, and if you need more help click the ‘more info’ button below to see all the instructions.

<LI-SPOILER>

You will see our simple instructions page.

Hit the "GO TO TWEAKKER" button and then choose your phone type.

Enter in your mobile number and tick the box to confirm you are not a robot. Then hit the "CONFIRM" button.

Depending on your phone type you might see the following message.

That means your settings are on the way. You will also see instructions about how to install the settings.

For certain types of phones though you will not receive the settings by text. If that’s the case you will see an install guide. The below guide is an example for iOS 8 to show how it might look:

Follow the step by step instructions on the right hand side.

** IMPORTANT **

Ensure both data roaming and mobile data are both switched on.

</LI-SPOILER>

On the odd occasion your network connection may drop, and most of the time this can be fixed by following a few simple steps. Click ‘more info’ below to run through this checklist.

<LI-SPOILER>

Can you try a restart of your phone? Just switch the phone off for 30 seconds and restart again. That should be the first thing you try if you ever lose service.

If you still have no service then try searching for a list of available networks. Choose 48 from the list and check if you can get connected to the network again. If this fails please note any error message as we may need this later on.

Can you try switching the phone off and taking the SIM and battery out (if possible)? Leave it for a minute then pop it back together and restart.

If that fails then if possible you should test your 48 SIM in another unlocked phone. If you could borrow a friend or family members phone for a few minutes that would help a lot. This confirms whether the problem’s with your phone or not.

If none of that worked then don’t panic. We have the care crew at hand who will get to the bottom of this for you.

Please include the following information:

- Is your phone unlocked?

- Can you make calls? No, what error do you hear?

- Can you receive calls?

- Can you send texts? No, what error do you see?

- Can you receive texts?

- Your mobile number and the 19 digit SIM serial number?

- Does the problem occur in one specific area or does it appear to be random?

- Where have you tried it?

- Anyone else on 48 nearby having similar problems?

- Has anything changed like a new phone? Or did you update the software on the phone?

- Did your SIM work in another unlocked phone?

- Any error message on the screen?

- Error message when trying to connect to the 48 network?

Click here to chat to a 48 agent with these details.

</LI-SPOILER>

Can’t make a phone call? There could be a number of good reasons why you cannot make a call. Have a look at this handy checklist:

<LI-SPOILER>

Have you bought a membership?

You need a membership with 48 to make a call. Credit will not work as you always need a membership on the go. It’s like being a member of an exclusive club. If you don’t pay the entry fee you don’t get in Smiley Happy.

Click here to buy membership. Don’t forget, all our memberships expire after 1 month, so you need to renew to keep your service going. You can set your membership to auto-renew.

What number are you calling?

It might be that you are attempting to call a number that is not included in you free minutes. Only Irish mobile and landline numbers are included in your membership allowance.

For example calls to numbers beginning with 1890 or 1850 are NOT included in your membership. You need to have extra top-up credit available to call these numbers. Click here for numbers that you need to use your credit for.

Have your minutes all been used?

Log into “My 48” and check what you have remaining.

If they have been used don’t worry as we have add ons to keep you going. Just hit the “BUY MORE” button.

NOTE: If you have already bought another membership maybe it has not started yet. Log in and check your membership planner.

Is your new membership queued?

Have you have used your minutes and bought a new membership expecting it to start immediately.

You can find out on your membership planner.

When you buy a membership it runs for a full month. Even if you use everything up it still runs for a full month. If you buy another membership it will not start immediately. It gets queued and will only start when the current membership runs out.

If you desperately need mobile or landline minutes we have add ons to keep you going until the next membership starts. You can see all our add ons here.

Have you been suspended?

With all unlimited deals there is a fair use policy attached. You can view 48’s fair use policy here.

Check for any recent messages from 48 here. If you have been suspended you will see message explaining what happened and the steps needed to resolve it.

For any further information contact an agent.

</LI-SPOILER>

You should now be able to use 48’s service. If you need more help, post on the Community with your model of phone, some details on the issues you’re facing and the steps you’ve tried so far.

EDIT: Thanks <LI-USER uid="484" login="dalyer"></LI-USER> for the recommended changes

Getting an error message when trying to buy membership

There are a few different errors that can come up when you're trying to buy membership. Have a look below and see if you can figure it out:

Remember, when getting in touch with the care crew about an error message, you'll need to include the error.

"Security Limitations"

<LI-SPOILER>

Unfortunately there's nothing much you can do about this.
You'll need to log a request with the care crew here and they'll be able to look into this for you.

</LI-SPOILER>

"Your account is not active, please contact a 48 customer care agent"

<LI-SPOILER>

Have you reported your phone/SIM lost and ordered a new SIM?

If you have then it prevents you buying anything until your new SIM gets activated. Wait for the new SIM to arrive and you can then buy your membership.

Has it been a long time since you used your phone? If you have not made any calls or texts for quite a while your number could be suspended or de-activated. Contact the care crew here and they can check for you.

</LI-SPOILER>

"You don't have access to this page"

<LI-SPOILER>

Have you ordered a replacement SIM?
If you have, then you'll just need to sit tight until it arrives, you won't be able to register until then.

If you haven't ordered a replacement SIM and you're getting this message then you can contact the care crew here to see what the problem is.

</LI-SPOILER>

"SIM de-activated"

<LI-SPOILER>

Have you requested to move over your number to a new SIM?
If you're getting this error message then your transfer must still be in progress, just sit tight and this should be sorted for you soon.
If your number has already been moved then it's best to get on to the care crew here

</LI-SPOILER>

"Portin Failure"

<LI-SPOILER>

Has your number been transfered over yet? If not then just give it another little while and it should sort itself out.
If your number has been trasfered over and this message is still coming up for you, then it's best to get in touch with the care crew here

</LI-SPOILER>

"We're still activating your SIM"

<LI-SPOILER>

Has your SIM been activated yet? If not then just give it a little time and it should sort itself out.
If your SIM has been activated and this message is still coming up for you, then it's best to get in touch with the care crew here

Remember, when getting in touch with the care crew about an error message, you'll need to include the error.

"Security Limitations"

<LI-SPOILER>
Unfortunately there's nothing much you can do about this.
You'll need to log a request with the care crew here and they'll be able to look into this for you.

</LI-SPOILER>

"Your account is not active, please contact a 48 customer care agent"

<LI-SPOILER>

Have you reported your phone lost and ordered a new SIM? If you have then you need to wait for the new SIM to arrive then buy membership.

It might be that you have not used your phone in quite a while. If you have not made any calls or sent any texts in a long time your number could be suspended or de-activated. Contact the care crew here and they can let you know what the problem is.

</LI-SPOILER>

"You don't have access to this page"

<LI-SPOILER>
Have you ordered a replacement SIM?
If you have, then you'll just need to sit tight until it arrives, you won't be able to register until then.

If you haven't ordered a replacement SIM and you're getting this message then you can contact the care crew here to see what the problem is.

</LI-SPOILER>

"SIM de-activated"

<LI-SPOILER>
Have you requested to move over your number to a new SIM?
If you're getting this error message then your transfer must still be in progress, just sit tight and this should be sorted for you soon.
If your number has already been moved then it's best to get on to the care crew here
</LI-SPOILER>

"Portin Failure"

<LI-SPOILER>
Has your number been transfered over yet? If not then just give it another little while and it should sort itself out.
If your number has been trasfered over and this message is still coming up for you, then it's best to get in touch with the care crew here

</LI-SPOILER>

"We're still activating your SIM"

<LI-SPOILER>
Has your SIM been activated yet? If not then just give it a little time and it should sort itself out.
If your SIM has been activated and this message is still coming up for you, then it's best to get in touch with the care crew here

You took too much money

If you tried to pay your membership and were overcharged, chances are that you’ve accidentally bought more memberships that you meant to.

When you buy a membership it is “queued” in your account and will only kick in once your current membership expires. You can check that out on My 48.

So if that happens, then you’ve just bought yourself some extra membership – no harm done!

If you need to cancel one or more memberships get in touch with our excellent care crew who can cancel any queued memberships. You can so that here.

If you haven’t bought more membership that you’ve meant to, then you might have been overcharged. Best thing to do now is to contact the care crew here so they can sort that out and get your money back to you.

If your existing membership is due to expire today it will not run out until close to midnight.

So say your membership is set to expire today it will only expire between 10 PM and 11.59 PM. If you have bought a new membership today it will be "queued" to start when the current one ends.

If it goes past midnight and your new membership still hasn't kicked in then you can put in a request with the care crew here.

I bought my membership - why can't I call or text?

Like everything there is always a smple explaination. I've fairly sure if you check below you'll understand what's happening.

Has your membership expired yet?

<LI-SPOILER>If you’ve bought a new membership and you’re not able to call or text, chances are your old membership hasn’t expired yet. Your new membership will only kick in once your current membership expires. You can check out when that is here.

Look under the membership planner on the right hand side.

</LI-SPOILER>

Has your account been suspended?

<LI-SPOILER>

48 have a fair usage policy. If you’re in breach of this then your membership might be suspended. You should have got plenty of warning via email about this from the care crew. If you’ve been suspended, nothing you can do now but wait until your current membership expires so that your next one can kick in.

</LI-SPOILER>

Has your membership been processed?

<LI-SPOILER>

When you check your 48 account here, can you see that you have a valid membership or do you see that it is still “processing”? If it hasn’t been too long best to leave it for a little while. If you’re waiting for more than a couple of hours then it’s best to get on to the care crew here.

</LI-SPOILER>

If this has not help then get back in touch with the care crew.

What is the difference between membership and top up?

In order to get your calls/texts/internet to work, topping up is not enough; you’ll need to convert the top up into membership. 48 have memberships which are bundles of calls, texts and internet. You’ll need to buy a membership each month to have these active.

You can buy your membership straight away with your payment card without topping up your account, just click here to get started.

Remember that things like MMS, international calls etc. will be charged from your credit balance though, so we recommend that you top up your balance by €2 or €3 as well as your membership for any extra charges you might need. You can click here to top up your balance.

So if you for example want to buy the Don membership, you can top up by €23, then convert the €20 into your Don membership and then you’ll have the remaining €3 on your account if you ever need it for something extra. Simple!

Bought membership - can't call/text

This one crops up repeatedly so I thought that I'd do a FAQ on it...

I just bought a new membership but still can't make calls/send texts/use the internet. Why?

The most common reason is that you have a current membership in place, it has not yet expired and you have used up some or all membership bundled allowances and so cannot use the relevant services.

When you have a current membership in place and buy a new one the new one does not start immediately. It "stacks" to kick in when the current one eventually runs its full monthly course and expires. You do not get access to the new membership's bundled allowances until then.

Note that you are charged for the new membership at the time of purchase but you have not "lost" the money paid as the membership has stacked and will start once the current membership expires.

Memberships always run their full monthly course and cannot be terminated early. In particular buying a new membership does not terminate a current one.

If you use up current membership allowances then you really need to buy add-ons rather than a new membership in order to be able to use the relevant services again under the current membership:

Buy add-ons

When there is any confusion about this you can usually clarify matters by checking your current membership status and expiry date on the My 48 page of your online account:

http://www.48months.ie/my-48

The right hand side of this page also contains the Membership Planner section which will show if there is a stacked membership waiting to kick in on the specified date (immediately after the current membership expires).

You can also check the My History page to check recent payments/purchases:

http://www.48months.ie/my-48/my-history

Hope this helps.

iPhone abroad issue

We have spotted an issue getting connected abroad when using an iPhone. Luckily though we have our resident 48 brainiac on hand with a solution.

Choose one of the options below.

I am already abroad

<LI-SPOILER>

Ideally this should be set up before you leave Ireland but don’t worry we can still get you connected.

Go to the Settings/Phone/SIM Applications and select When Abroad --> Network Selection --> Manual --> International Roaming profile. Then search manually for a network and try to connect.

If this does not work keep persevering with it and you will get connected. It might take multiple attempts but it will work for you eventually.

</LI-SPOILER>

Not abroad just yet

<LI-SPOILER>

To get connected without any problems you need to change a setting on your phone just before you leave.

Go to the Settings --> Phone --> SIM Applications and select When Abroad/Network Selection/Manual/International - Roaming profile.

When you search manually for a network and try to connect. That should work a treat for you.

</LI-SPOILER>

* Don’t forget to change this back when you return. Go to Settings/Phone/SIM Applications and select When Abroad/Network Selection/Manual/Local - Roaming profile.

Calling Northern Ireland landlines

When calling Northern Ireland landlines you can use the normal UK +44 prefix or you can use the 048 prefix described here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_the_Republic_of_Ireland#Calls_to_Northern_Ireland

A call to NI using +44 is charged as an international call at 50c per minute.

http://www.48months.ie/membership-plans/international-calls

As I mentioned here a few times I was never compeltely sure how calls to NI using 048 were charged.

Well 48 support just clarified to me that calls to NI using 048 are covered by your membership or add-on bundled landline calls allowance.

So if you're calling an NI landline it makes sense to use 048 rather than +44.

Refer to the wikipedia link above for instructions on how to use the 048 prefix (basically you replace the 028 prefix in an NI landline with 048).

Hope this helps.

No Service

On the odd occasion your network connection may drop. Most of the time this can be fixed by following a few simple steps.

You can get in touch with your friendly care crew agent here.

Free whatsApp FAQ

What’s the deal with 48 giving away Unlimited WhatsApp Messaging?

<LI-SPOILER>

48 and WhatsApp have teamed up with a really exciting 6 month exclusive deal whereby all 48 customers can go absolutely nuts with Unlimited WhatsApp Messaging for free.

This basically means that you can send as many WhatsApp messages as you want, all day long, to all of your friends and none of your data allocation will be used up.

This is a first in the Irish Telecommunications market and you will not find this exclusive and exciting deal with any other Irish Network!

</LI-SPOILER>

So what is the offer?

<LI-SPOILER>

Kicking off on June 10th, 48 is offering Unlimited WhatsApp Messaging for free. This means that 48 customers who have data included in their membership plan or who have purchased a data add on can get unlimited WhatsApp messaging for free.

The way it works is that any data usage incurred through WhatsApp to send or receive messages will be zero-rated and your data allowance will not be depleted. For example if you are on the Don Membership you get 8GB data per month. You could waffle away all month on WhatsApp Messaging and it would use zero of this 8GB allocation.

</LI-SPOILER>

Who is eligible?

<LI-SPOILER>

All 48 customers who have data included in their price plan will be eligible for this offer provided they have an active membership.

</LI-SPOILER>

Why is it only for 6 months?

<LI-SPOILER>

Well, we have a deal with WhatsApp that this Unlimited WhatsApp messaging will be exclusively available to 48 customers for 6 months. But we will keep a close eye on things during this time, and see what the interest is like. As we say, this is the first time any mobile network has launched Unlimited WhatsApp messaging, so we need to make sure that we are offering the right deal at the right time. So it’s important to be able to check in to review things.

</LI-SPOILER>

But WhatsApp is already Unlimited and free isn’t it?

<LI-SPOILER>

WhatsApp is currently free to download, and there is no limit to the messages you send, but ordinarily every WhatsApp message will be taken out of your data allocation, unless you are on WIFI, which means if you are sending or receiving a lot of messages on WhatsApp you run the risk of running out of Data.

That’s why this deal is so exciting! Now 48 customers’ WhatsApp messaging will be “zero-rated”, which means that it will not affect your data allocation, allowing you to send & receive as many WhatsApp messages as you like without your data being affected. This means you are no longer tied to WIFI to stay in contact with your mates!

</LI-SPOILER>

Does it apply to WhatsApp groups?

<LI-SPOILER>

Yes, you can send and receive as many messages on WhatsApp as you can handle without it depleting your Data allocation. This includes groups.

</LI-SPOILER>

Does it apply to voice calls on WhatsApp?

<LI-SPOILER>

Unfortunately, due to the way VOIP (basically making calls over the internet) is configured on WhatsApp, we cannot guarantee that voice calls made on WhatsApp will be free.

So if you make a voice call over WhatsApp it might be taken from your data allocation. The tech-heads in 48 are working with WhatsApp to find a solution to this issue, so we will keep you posted. But in the meantime, if you are conscious of your data usage keep it to text / photo / group messaging on WhatsApp to be safe. Hit Starbucks’ free WIFI for the voice calls!

</LI-SPOILER>

Can I send photos for free?

<LI-SPOILER>

Yes, you can send and receive as many picture messages on WhatsApp as you can handle without it depleting your Data allocation. However, 48 will take no responsibility if you max out your mates with photos of your cat, dog or food. Every friend has a breaking point.

</LI-SPOILER>

T&C’s

<LI-SPOILER>

Now this is the legal bit, and this piece will be updated in our standard Terms & Conditions, which are at all times available on our webpage here.

Unlimited WhatsApp messaging for free

Unlimited WhatsApp messaging is available only if you have data included in your membership plan or if you have purchased a data add on. You will also need to download WhatsApp on your phone. You will not be charged for data used by you when you use the WhatsApp messaging service to send and receive messages via the app.

IMPORTANT - If you use the voice/phone call features on WhatsApp to make voice calls your data allowance will be deducted.

</LI-SPOILER>

If this post has helped you, give Kudos to let us know!

I forgot my PIN or need my PUK

So you’ve forgotten your PIN number? Tut tut! Well not to worry, we’ll sort it.

Firstly, check the packaging you got your SIM in – your PIN will be printed inside it. PIN1 is what you’re looking for.

If you have binned the packaging then don’t worry we have other ways and means of fixing this.

We don’t have a copy of your PIN so what you need to do it enter the wrong PIN three times so it blocks your SIM. We can then use a special code to unblock it again.

When your SIM is asking for a PUK or unblock code or something similar log into your 48 account. You will see a button that says “More” so click that and then hit “My Details”.

Alternatively use this direct link https://48months.ie/my-48/my-details.

Scroll down to near the bottom of you will see the special code I mentioned under “your puk code”.

Now enter code number into your phone and you should now be asked to create a new PIN. Choose one you will remember this time.

Enter the new PIN once and you will be asked to confirm it. Then as if by magic you are back into your phone again.

If you have any problems with this and you have tried the puk a few times without success get in touch with the care crew here.

If the SIM is completely blocked and you need a new one, click here for more info.

Changes to memberships

Hey guys,

We are making a few changes to our Don and Standard memberships

You might have a few questions around this so we have tried to cover the most of them below.

What changes are being made to 48 memberships & why?

<LI-SPOILER>Since 48 launched in 2012 the idea was always to do things differently, and now we’re about to do it again with some very cool stuff on the way. But first we go ahead we have to make some changes to our Don and Standard Membership deals. A full breakdown of all the changes is available here</LI-SPOILER>

Is this because Three have taken over O2?

<LI-SPOILER>No, this has nothing to do with Three. 48 were always going to make changes to our memberships. For us it’s always been about doing things differently and improving what we can give you guys.</LI-SPOILER>

When are these changes coming into effect?

<LI-SPOILER>These changes will come into effect June 10th and will kick in when you buy a new Don or Standard (legacy membership available to existing customers only) membership from June 10th onwards.</LI-SPOILER>

Will my queued membership change to the new plan?

<LI-SPOILER>No, if you purchased the Don or Standard membership before the 10th June you will be able to use the membership as per the terms of the membership which was applicable at the time of purchase. Basically, if you buy before 10th June then we will honour the deal available at the date of purchase.</LI-SPOILER>

Do I need to do anything?

<LI-SPOILER>Nope, these changes will be made automatically when you purchase a new membership after June 10th</LI-SPOILER>

Do I have to choose a new plan? I’d prefer to stay with what I have.

<LI-SPOILER>No, if you are happy with the changes you can stay on the plan that you’re on.</LI-SPOILER>

I’m on the standard plan, why am I getting less for the same price?

<LI-SPOILER>Well yeah it doesn’t make sense for you to stay on this plan. So you should probably check out our €10 Guido plan, because you get 1 GB internet for the same money. But we didn’t want to force you to do stuff. So it’s up to you.</LI-SPOILER>

Can I get 4G?

<LI-SPOILER>Not at the moment, but it’s something we’re looking into for the future.</LI-SPOILER>

I heard former O2 customers are getting 4G. Why can’t 48 customers have it?

<LI-SPOILER>Well 48 is different to O2 and Three and 4G just isn’t part of our plans – yet. It’s something we’re looking into for the future</LI-SPOILER>

Will my landline allowance change or am I still receiving my 60 minute Guido landline allowance, 60 minute Don landline allowance and 20 minute Standard membership landline allowance

<LI-SPOILER>No, nothing is changing and you will still receive your monthly landline allowance as normal.</LI-SPOILER>

Why can’t I make a call?

There could be a number of good reasons why you cannot make a call. Have a look at this handy checklist:

Have you bought a membership?

<LI-SPOILER>

You need a membership with 48 to make a call. Credit will not work as you always need a membership on the go. It’s like being a member of an exclusive club. If you don’t pay the entry fee you don’t get in .

Click here to buy membership. Don’t forget, all our memberships expire after 1 month, so you need to renew to keep your service going. You can set your membership to auto-renew.

</LI-SPOILER>

What number are you calling?

<LI-SPOILER>

</LI-SPOILER>

Have your minutes all been used?

<LI-SPOILER>

Log into “My 48” and check what you have remaining.

If they have been used don’t worry as we have add ons to keep you going. Just hit the “BUY MORE” button.

NOTE: If you have already bought another membership maybe it has not started yet. Log in and check your membership planner.

If that’s the case read “Is your new membership queued?”

</LI-SPOILER>

Is your new membership queued?

<LI-SPOILER>

</LI-SPOILER>

Have you been suspended?

<LI-SPOILER>

With all unlimited deals there is a fair use policy attached. You can view 48’s fair use policy here.

Check for any recent messages from 48 here. If you have been suspended you will see message explaining what happened and the steps needed to resolve it.

For any further information contact an agent.

</LI-SPOILER>

If none of the above apply and you still cannot make a call contact one of our care crew who will be more than happy to help.

You can contact the care crew here.

Please include:

Your mobile number.

Your SIM card number.

The error message you hear when making a call?

Don’t worry we can arrange that for you.

Just log into your “My 48” and hit the "Change my SIM" button.

You now have two choices.

1 - Swap your SIM without blocking your current SIM.

<LI-SPOILER>

Choose Swap my SIM - I need a new type of SIM and hit CONTINUE.

You will then need to choose Trio SIM and enter your address.

A 'trio' SIM is a SIM card with perforated lines on it, so it is a 'normal' SIM, a micro SIM and a nano SIM all in one. It will fit into any type of phone available now.

Enter all the info and hit SEND ME MY NEW SIM. We will get on delivered with 3-5 days (don’t count weekend days though).

You will then see confirmation that your SIM is on the way.

</LI-SPOILER>

2 – Swap your SIM and BLOCK your current SIM

(Only do this if you have lost your phone/SIM)

<LI-SPOILER>

Choose Block my SIM - I lost my SIM and want to block my account and hit CONTINUE.

You will then need to choose the type of SIM you want and enter your address.

A 'trio' SIM is a SIM card with perforated lines on it, so it is a 'normal' SIM, a micro SIM and a nano SIM all in one.
Enter all the info and hit BLOCK & NEW SIM. We will get on delivered with 3-5 days (don’t count weekend days though)

You will then see confirmation that your SIM is on the way.

Can't get online?

Try our automated internet settings page. Why waste time entering all the settings manually when it could just take you a few clicks.

You can get all the settings you need via “My 48”. Click this link.

If that’s the case you will see the following screens.

Follow the step by step instructions on the right hand side.

** IMPORTANT **

Ensure both data roaming and mobile data are both switched on.

You should now be able to use 48’s mobile internet. If not contact a 48 agent.

How can I enable it? Online? By text/shortcode etc.?

<LI-SPOILER>You can set-up your membership to automatically renew through your ‘My 48’.

Once you switch it on we will send you a confirmation text.

You will also receive a reminder text each month before your membership renews.

If you want to amend your auto renew details (e.g. switchoff/change membership/change payment method) it’s all available through your ‘my48’ account

</LI-SPOILER>

Can I enable it for a specific period or just indefinitely?

<LI-SPOILER>

Once you switch on auto renew your membership will automatically renew as long as you remain a 48 customer.

If you want to amend your auto renew details (switch off/change membership/change payment method) it’s all available at your ‘My 48’

</LI-SPOILER>

How can I cancel it and revert to manual renewal? Online? By text/short code etc.?

<LI-SPOILER>If you want to amend any details about your membership automatic renewal (switch off/change membership/change payment method) it’s all available at your ‘My 48’</LI-SPOILER>

When will the automatic renewal happen and when will my card be charged?

<LI-SPOILER>Your card will be charged on the day your new membership renews. For example, if your membership automatically renews on the 28th of the month – payment will be taken on that day.

Also each month, 2 days before your membership renews you will get a reminder text – letting you know the membership and cost. </LI-SPOILER>

How do I get notified of an automatic recurring membership renewal? Text? Email? Online account?

<LI-SPOILER>When you switch to auto renew we will send you a confirmation text. Also each month before your membership renews you will get a reminder text - letting you know the membership and cost. </LI-SPOILER>

What happens if the payment is refused? My card has expired? Is cancelled? There is insufficient funds/credit?

<LI-SPOILER>Should payment be refused we will send you a text asking you to update your saved card details.

To buy your next membership you will need to update your card details and manually buy membership. You will also need re opt-in to auto renew to ensure future membership automatically renews.</LI-SPOILER>

What happens if there are security issues with my card?

<LI-SPOILER>If your card transaction fails when we apply your membership renewal we won’t be able to activate your new membership.

We will disable auto-renewal on your account and you will have to sign in to ‘My 48’ and set it up again. We will send you a text message to let you know it has failed.</LI-SPOILER>

Can I use PayPal?

<LI-SPOILER>Unfortunately no, we do not accept payments from PayPal accounts</LI-SPOILER>

Can I set up recurring payments for other stuff - e.g. cash credit when the balance falls below some limit, add-ons when allowances are used up etc.

<LI-SPOILER>At the moment auto renew is only for your membership.</LI-SPOILER>

Can I set up a recurring payment on my card for somebody else's account?

<LI-SPOILER>Automatic membership renewal is set-up through your ‘My 48’. Assuming that the person whose membership you want to auto renew has allowed you access to their ‘My 48’ this feature can be set-up.

It is not available through the gift store.</LI-SPOILER>

What if I want to change the type of membership purchased?

<LI-SPOILER>That’s no problem! You can amend your membership auto renew at any time. Just log on to your ‘My 48’ and hit the change button beside your membership planner. This brings you to the auto renew management page. Here you can

*Remember if you’re mid-way through your current membership it’s the next membership that will change!

</LI-SPOILER>

Is there a cut off time for removing recurring or changing membership before due date.

<LI-SPOILER>Yes, should you wish to change your auto renew details it needs to be completed before 10pm on the evening your current membership expires. That’s to make sure we can process all requests for the next day.</LI-SPOILER>

What happens if bank details change

Can I choose between paying by credit top up or card
