48 don't support 4G/LTE unfortunately.

Hope this helps.

OK 3g sorry..my wife has 3g for her iPhone 6 on 48. I just got given this HTC.I've changed the vpn but I don't have a 3g icon popping up at top.I just have an H with 2 arrows. What does that mean?

H is HSPA which is better than 3G.

The different icons and standards/speeds are explained here:

I presume that your mention of VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a mistake as that has nothing to do with configuration to get internet/data working.

I presume that you meant APN (Access Point Name)?

By the way you asked about configuring your phone for data access here but never replied when I asked if my advice had helped/worked:

Hope this helps.

Oh whoops. Yeah I did mean apn. Oh cool so h is good. the fastest speed that I'll get on this network. Ah whoops sorry about that.I was also realizing email help from the 48 team. The issue with the old LG handset was that it was an American one and the presets were all for American domains... something like that. So accessing networks here in the UK would never work properly. Thanks for all your help though

OK - so everything is working OK for you?

You can test your connection speed (on wifi or carrier data) using the Speedtest.net app:

http://beta.speedtest.net/mobile

By the way the link that I posted is really about the Android data speed symbols.

The iPhone ones are different which may be why your missus sees 3G while you see H:

http://osxdaily.com/2013/06/18/iphone-icon-symbol-status-bar/

Basically Android gives more detail about the carrier data standard/speed than iOS.

I sometimes get H+ on 48 but it can be intermittent.

I'm not sure which specific H+ speed that is though.

Hope this helps.
