How to protect against SIM swap scam

AnnieF3413

I'm super nervous about the sim swap scam where a nefarious party somehow orders a replacement sim card, and is able to take over your phone number.  My job is requiring more and more 2 part authentication, and I'm getting more and more nervous!  Is there any advice specific to 48 for preventing this happening?  TIA!

No. Just the usual advice available elsewhere. E.g.:

At the very least use strong passwords for all of your accounts, including your My48 account, and keep them secure - using a password manager if necessary. Don't reuse passwords for different accounts.

I am not a 48 employee - if you need to contact 48 support you can do so by chat, email (support@48months.zendesk.com) or phone.
