Internet Settings

[ Edited ]

If you're having issues getting online, first try using Tweakker - 48months.tweakker.com.

Try our guide to using the AUTOMATED SERVICE here or enter the settings manually by following one of the guides below.

If your phone is not on the list try one that is similar or the Generic settings.

Specific Settings for Older Phones

Generic Settings

Don't see your handset on the list?

Don't worry! These generic internet settings should sort you out.

Enter the following information where asked:

APN: 48months.liffeytelecom.com

MCC:  272

MNC: 11

Authentication type: PAP

APN type: *

To set up your internet and mms settings:

APN: 48months.liffeytelecom.com

MMSChttp://mmc1/servlets/mms

MMS Proxy10.1.11.19

MMS port8080

MCC:  272

MNC: 11

Authentication type: PAP

APN type: *

Data Roaming

On some phones you'll need to have data roaming turned on and this is not as scary as it sounds.  It's a simple case of us using the Three network, so you're basically roaming on our parent network all the time.

There are no hidden costs, you just use the services you've bought at the cost you bought them for. Simple!

iPhone Instructions
Go to Settings > General > Network > Data Roaming - slide it over to ON.

Samsumg Instructions
Go to Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile Networks - tick the box to turn "Data Roaming" on

If this post has helped you, 'like' it to let us know!

android email not pushing on 48

If anyone on android's email stops pushing after joining 48, go into the settings for each particular mailbox and go to...'Sync schedule' and make sure your peak and off-peak schedule are set to 'Push'. Then from the Sync schedule screen click on 'While roaming' and select ''Use above settings'

Where a specific phone is not listed it's normally possible to use a similar one as a guide to configure the required settings.

Alternatively try the Tweakker APN app and see if it configures your internet settings for you:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweakker

Hope this helps.

That is for the Sony Xperia J, just replace the Vodafone settings with the 48 ones.

Have a look at this and try substituting the 48 equivalents for the GiffGaff settings maybe?

Re: Internet Settings

I think what people need to know is that basically if you have an android , it is essentially the same method and the variation comes from what andoid version you have rather than your manufacturer. so whether you have a samsung or sony or htc, the method is the same if you have the same android version (example 2.3 gingerbread) 2.3 is the more straightforward one , while with 4.0 you dont see it straight away. Instead you open more>mobile networks>access point names. Then do the same settings as mentioned at top of the thread.

Re: Internet Settings

That's a good point - maybe the settings should be done on an OS revision basis rather than a handset make and model basis?
