When do you get this message?
What, if anything, is not working for you?

Hope this helps.

The message keeps coming up as a notification at the top of my screen but I'm not sure if anything's not working but I can't get rid of the message. My phone seems to be working ok

What is the exact message (a screenshot of it would be ideal if possible) and when does it appear?

Don't know how to add a screenshot in this reply box but the message reads as follows
Configure Update
Profile update
Access point
Update: internet
Update: MMS
Then I'm asked to postpone delete or comment and when I go to the next step it asks to enter the pin that was provided by my service provider. I enter my sim password but that doesn't work!

I'm pretty sure that 48 don't support this OMA Client Provisioning and your SIM PIN is not going to work there.

If you want to configure your internet settings then you follow the instructions here:

http://community.48months.ie/t5/The-Knowledgebase/My-Internet-is-not-working/ta-p/45928

I don't know if there's any way to prevent this OMA Client Provisioning message/notification from constantly popping up if it's causing problems/annoyance.

You may need to ask the handset supplier/manufacturer for advice on that front.

Hope this helps.
