i top up cant make any calls and i do no where my credit has gone

What do you mean by topping up your credit?

Did you topup your cash credit balance?

Or did you buy membership or add-ons?

Cash credit is not sufficient for using most services.

And an active membership is always needed.

48 is different to other pay as you go networks that way.

Only certain services are charge to your cash credit balance - e.g. international calls/texts, MMS messages, calls to "special" numbers such as 1850/1890 etc.

Calls to mobiles/landlines, texts and internet access are always covered by membership or add-on allowances that must be purchased and paid for up front.

The money paid for these does not appear as cash credit on your account once spent.

What does your online account say about your membership status, expiry date and allowance and cash credit balances?

What does your My History page say about recent payments/topups/purchases?

Hope this helps.

Did that help at all?

Just been in my history. And not once has it. 4 times ten

What does your My48 page say about your current membership status and expiry date?

And any "next" memberships listed under the Membership Planner heading?

Sounds to me like you maybe bought 4 x €10 Guido memberships which have probably stacked because your current membership is still active and you may have used up all of your membership allowances.

Buying a new membership when the current one is still active but the allowances have been used up doesn't help as the new membership "stacks" to kick in when the current one evenually expires.

If you have used up your current membership allowances and cannot make calls/send texts then you need to buy add-ons to tide you over until the end of the current membership.if you post the details of what it says on your My48 page it will probably clarify.

Thanks that seems to be the problem my expire date and now ten euro has gone out of my account four times so I've paid 40 out of my account. And can't make calls. I still have data text. But I didn't know this is thought I could just top up and that was it so I'm down 40euro and can't make calls

No - with 48 most services are covered by membership or add-on allowances and not cash credit unlike other pay as you go networks.

In particular calls and texts to Irish mobiles, calls to landlines and internet/data access are covered by membership/add-on allowances.

Only things like international calls/texts, MMS messages, calls to "special" numbers such as 1850/1890 are charged to your cash credit balance.

If you use up membership allowances before your membership month is up then you need to buy add-ons to use the relevant services:

http://www.48months.ie/membership-plans/add-ons

Buying a membership "early" before the current membership expires will not give you access to the new membership allowances because the new membership will stack to kick in when the current one eventually expires.

You should contact 48 support and they may be able to refund you the charges for unused memberships that have not started yet and then you can buy add-ons to tide you over until your current membership expires.

http://www.48months.ie/help#ask-a-48-agent

Note that you have not "lost" the €40 because you should now have memberships stacked to cover you for the next 4 months after the current membership expires.

However not everybody wants to buy so many memberships in advance and some people may need the money for more immediate purposes.

Hope this helps.
