See below some useful tutorials and info on how to set up and use your voicemail.
Your voicemail is automatically ‘switched on’ when you join 48.
There are 3 times when you might want to divert calls to your voicemail:
You can set up all 3 diverts or just one, up to you. Below are the steps to set up each option. These involve inputting some information into your phone as if you were going to make a phone call.
When using the codes below, it’s important to put your mobile number in the international form:
use ‘00353’ before your number and drop the ‘0’ of your phone number
you’ll also need to add a ‘5’ after the 89/87/86/85/83 prefix.
So, if your mobile number is 089 1234567, it will become 00353 89 5 1234567, which is your voicemail number.
To enable this: dial **62* followed by your voicemail number, followed by #, and hit call
To cancel this: dial ##62#
To check the status of this option: dial *#62#
So if you want to enable this option and your mobile number is 089 1234567, dial **62*+3538951234567# and hit call. After that if you want to cancel or check the status, just dial the code and hit call.
To enable this: dial **67* followed by your voicemail number, followed by #, and hit call
To cancel this: dial ##67#
To check the status of this option: dial *#67#
So to enable option 2: if your mobile number is 089 1234567, dial **67*+3538951234567# and hit call.
To enable this: dial **61* followed by your voicemail number, followed by #, and hit call
To cancel this: dial ##61#
To check the status of this option: dial *#61#
So if you want to enable option 3 and your mobile number is 089 1234567, dial **61*+3538951234567# and hit call.
To switch off your voicemail you’ll need to use the following shortcode number that you simply dial on your mobile (they don’t cost anything to use):
172 (or alternatively dial #004#)
To check the status of your voicemail if you’re not sure if it’s switched on, dial *004#
When you ‘switch off’/disable voicemail, it stops all calls going to your voicemail. This covers all types of call situations which would normally be diverted to voicemail (i.e. when you don’t answer a call, when your phone is switched off, when you’re on another call).
To change you voicemail PIN, just dial 173 from your mobile.
This means that if you ever need to access your voicemail from another phone/landline you’ll be able to enter this PIN and your voicemail will be protected from other people accessing it.
To access your voicemail from any other phone just dial 08948 00171.
You will be asked to enter your mobile phone number and your voicemail PIN. You can then listen to your voicemail.
Simple as that!
While in the Republic of Ireland: calling your voicemail is included in your free minutes.
Outside the Republic of Ireland: if you’re in the EU and on your roaming call add-on, calls to check your voicemail are free, otherwise you’ll be charged at standard roaming prices.
You can change the length of your phone’s ringing time and avoid missing an important call.
You can increase the time from 5 to 30 seconds, or in multiples of 5 seconds.
Just dial the following on your mobile:
**61*(mailbox number)**(number of seconds you want it to ring for)# and send.
The default ringing time is 15 seconds. If you don’t know your voicemail number, it’s just your normal mobile number with a 5 added after the prefix. For example, 087 5 1234567.
Call Me lets you send a free text to a friend asking them to call you back.
Just text your friend’s number to 50148. For example, if your friend’s number is 0899999999, just text 0899999999 to 50148.
Your friend will then receive a “Hey, call me” message from your phone number.
You can send it to any Irish mobile number. Just make sure you use one of the correct number formats below when typing your friend’s mobile number:
