Roaming ad on ?

 Hi.

 

 I'm off to Portugal next week . Is it just a case of purchasing the roaming ad ons and thats it ... or do I have to inform 48 that I am traveling ? .

 

 I have read about how to purchase the ad ons...but it does not answer my question .

If you have cash credit and no EU roaming add-ons then the cash credit will be used to pay for outgoing and incoming calls and outgoing texts.See the Standard EU roaming charges here:

If you buy the EU roaming add-ons then cash credit will not be used as long as you have allowances left under the relevant add-ons. Note that with the EU roaming calls add-on incoming calls are free. See here for what the EU roaming add-ons cost and what they cover:

You need a membership one way or another but the membership allowances don't cover any services while abroad. You need either cash credit or the EU roaming add-ons to cover these.

Yeah im actually in portugal now and iv bought add ons but i cant seem to use the internet or call and text people at home ? Any help

You seem to be using an iPhone?

You don't have to inform 48.

You need cash credit to pay for incoming and outgoing calls and outgoing texts.

Or else you can buy the EU roaming add-ons which give you certain allowances for these and incoming calls will be free.

As mentioned above if you are using an iPhone you may need to do the step that I linked to.

 I have €3 credit on my phone at the moment ,will this credit start to be used automatically when abroad ? There are 4 of us in the same household going on holiday on 48 network . If we all buy the roaming ad ons ,will we all need cash credit as well ...or just Guido membership ?.

 

 were all on Htc / Sammy phones.

 Another quick question...

 

 If 3 of us are on 48 and buy the addons for roaming , can we phone each other on our 48 phones while in Portugal ?

This was never clear to me.

I think you can but you the calls will not be covered by your normal membership and will be taken from your EU roaming calls add-on.

But you might want to check with 48 support to be sure and maybe post the answer back here for the benefit of others?
