HTC Devices - internet settings

If you're having issues getting online on your HTC, first try using Tweakker - 48months.tweakker.com

 

If that doesn't help, check out the generic HTC settings below.

How to change the settings

There might be slight differences depending on the version of Android you are using but these settings should work if your phone is on the list.

 

To change your phone settings:

 

 

  1. Tap the Menu key
  2. Tap Settings
  3. In the Wireless & networks section, tap More...
  4. Tap Mobile Networks
  5. Tap Access Point Names
  6. Tap the Menu key
  7. Tap New APN
  8. Fill the Edit access point section with the Internet and MMS settings that are available in the two following sections

  20. Tap Authentication type then tap PAP
  21. Tap APN type and enter the * symbol
  22. Tap the Menu key
  23. Tap Save
  24. Tap your new account so a green dot appears next to it
  25. Press the Back key four times to return to the standby screen.



What to do next

 

Switch your handset off and then back on to complete your settings.

The settings are now complete.

  17. Tap MMS port then tap the text box and enter 8080 then tap OK
  18. Tap MCC then tap the text box and enter 272 then tap OK
  19. Tap MNC then tap the text box and enter 11 then tap OK
  20. Press the Menu key
  21. Tap Save
  22. Press the Back key four times to return to the standby screen.

 

If after all this your internet is still not working then turn on data roaming within the settings of your phone this will allow you to use the internet.  Don't worry about extra charges as we do not support data roaming so if you go onto a different network you will not be charged.

If you still have no internet after checking the settings then turn on “data roaming” and “packet data” within the settings of your phone and hey presto that should be it.  Don't worry about extra charges as we do not support data roaming so if you go onto a different network you will not be charged.

Hi, I have the HTC One and I played around 40 mins trying to activate my internet. I previously had the HTC Desire X, I inputed the same details and I checked from the website and the internet doesnt seem to be working. I have tried everything hope you can help me out and point me in the right way to get it sorted.

Hi there!

Have you data roaming enabled?

You mention you tried all the above troubleshooting wise, but - Have you tried the tweakker too?

Have a read below if not & give it a go !
