I phone not working abroad, no service. Help!

Tried the suggested solution on the 48 app to get service abroad, but not working, any ideas?

Keep trying.

It can take many attempts before it works.

Try toggling airplane mode on and the off again and immediately after switching it off see if you can "catch" the local network long enough to do the required configuration:

Unfortunately this is down to the stupid way that Apple do things.
