Problems registering on UK network

While in the UK last month I had difficulty registering with any network. Eventually I managed to register with Vodafone UK after 4 hours searching all available networks. Is there an issue ?

Many thanks for the response Van Wider. It's a Samsung galaxy mini. I did manage to register on Vodafone UK but it was about 4 hours after I landed. I managed to get a WiFi spot last time but am anxious I won't be easily able to locate one again. I guess it's fingers crossed for next week

What sort of phone?

Not an iPhone by any chance?

If it was then this might be relevant:

 

iPhone abroad issue

 

If not then I'm not sure why you had problems.

I had no problems recently with an Android phone in France.

I think I've seen somebody mention the same problem with a Samsung Galaxy phone recently.

I have no idea why this would be since it should work straight off - unlike how it sometimes (often?) doesn't work straight off with iPhones.

Maybe contact 48 support and see if they can help?
