There's no reason that you cannot call/text UK numbers if you have the necessary cash credit to cover the costs of the calls/texts.

http://www.48months.ie/membership-plans/international-calls

If that doesn't work when you have the necessary cash credit then what happens?

Any errors?

Are you using the correct prefixes - e.g.

http://www.howtocallabroad.com/results.php?callfrom=ireland&callto=united_kingdom

If you are and calls still won't go through then contact 48 support for help.

http://www.48months.ie/help#ask-a-48-agent

Worth noting that Northern Ireland landlines can be called using the 048 prefix and this may be cheaper or included in landline bundle allowances (but I'm not 100% sure about that):

http://www.askcomreg.ie/tell_us/calling_northern_ireland___use_the_048_code_to_call_fixed_line_numbe...

Hope this helps.

Do you have enough cash credit to cover the cost of calls (50c per minute) and texts (25c per SMS)?

http://www.48months.ie/membership-plans/international-calls

Log into your online account or dial *100# and hit call to get your cash credit balance.

What happens when you try to call or text?

Are you sure that you're using the 00 44 or +44 prefix?

Are you sure that you're using the correct UK area code and dropping the leading zero?

Can you post the format of the number that you're using - substitute random digits for the actual number for privacy purposes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that.  I'm going to get this checked out by one of our tech team.

I'll be back in touch soon.  I should have some sort of an answer for you tomorrow.

48 support have confirmed that when "WhatsApp unlimited" was enabled it was only available to those with memberships (with a data allowance or add-on) starting on or after 10th June. However this has been rectified now and it's available to everybody (other than those with memberships with no data allowance and no data add-on).

Hope this helps.

I was using the don membership since it started, only wanted the unlimited calls for the job. Not into the texting or whatsapp so will be jumping ship now when don runs out on 29th. Cheers

Do you regularly use more than 1000 mobile minutes each month? If not then Don is still fine.

Yes I do use more so the don is not fine. It's run out now so I'm off in to tesco for a sim and register with them. I'll be also telling all the ppl I had sign up to do the same. GL

You'd have to ask 48 support why 48 reduced the Standard membership allowances.
