NETWORK UNLOCK OR UNLOCK CODE REQUIRED OR NETWORK LOCKED OR SIM LOCKED.

 

This message usually means your phone is locked to your old network. 
We do warn you about this before joining!

INVALID SIM.

 

First thing to try is taking your SIM out. Give the SIM a gentle wipe and after 10 seconds put the SIM and battery back in.

Still not working? This could be for a number of reasons so we have a little checklist for you below:

  1. Did you get the phone unlocked?
    • Yes - Good. Next question.
    • No – Time to sort that out. Check our unlocking guide.

  2. Have you registered your SIM yet? 

        Check My48 for any messages about the SIM activation.

  • Got a message - Get the Care Crew on the case here.
  • No messages - Read on

  1. Try taking your battery and SIM out.

        Give the SIM a gentle wipe and after 10 seconds put the SIM and battery back in.

         Did it work?

  • Yes – Happy days! You’re welcome.
  • No – Keep reading.

  1. Are you using an iPhone?
  • Yes - Try the steps below
    • Sync your phone with iTunes.
    • Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS. 
    • Toggle Airplane mode On and Off.
    • Try turning the iPhone off and then on again.
    • Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
  • No - Onto number 5....

  1. Try your SIM in another unlocked phone

       Time to nick your mates for a few minutes.

  • Worked - Must be a phone problem.
  • Didn’t work – Time to replace the SIM. Get one here

 

NO SERVICE.

  1. Is your SIM active?
  • Yes - (next question)
  • No - This shows you how to get it up and running
  1. Are you in the middle of transferring your number to 48?
  • Yes - Hang in there. Service will return when we have completed the transfer.
  • No – (next question)
  1. Do you have coverage?

You will need to make sure you are in an area with 48 coverage. You can check here

  • Coverage good (head to next question)
  • Poor coverage – Refer to Signal Issues
  1. Has your 48 SIM ever worked?
  • Yes - Has anything changed recently? New phone? Updated phone software?
  • No – (Onto the next question)
  1. Is your phone unlocked?
  • Yes - (next question)
  • No - Did you miss the memo? It has to be unlocked to work with 48.Head here.
  1. Does the SIM work in another unlocked phone?
  • Yes - Not nice news but looks like an issue with your phone.
  • No - Time to order a replacement SIM.
