I presume you mean no mobile data service while out of the house and out of range of WiFi?

Mobile data is a completely different connection to WiFi.

Did you ever configure your APN settings?

Text "APN" to 50048 and follow the instructions to ensure that they are configured correctly for mobile data to work properly:
