Can you switch from Micro to Nano-Sim and keep your old number?

I'm on 48 right now and love it. I have an iPhone 4 which means I have a 48 micro-sim. If I wanted to buy an iPhone 5 soon would I be able to change to a 48 nano-sim and keep my old number?
