What's the best offer for me? Should I just forget about my 48 sim and buy an American sim?

I reckon you'd be better off getting a US SIM especially if you are making/receiving calls within the US.

But you'd need to shop around to see what's on offer.

The costs of using your 48 SIM while roaming abroad are listed here:

Going abroad

Other call charges

If you get a US SIM then you won't be able to use your original number from Ireland though.

And if people are calling you from Ireland then it will cost them more if you use a US rather than the 48 SIM.

If you don't buy membership or otherwise use your 48 account for 6 months then it'll probably become deactivated but can be reactivated again by contacting 48 support. If you don't use it for longer (c. 9 months?) then it may be deleted.

Hope this helps.
