Micro sim

Anon

Have just bought a second hand xperia z1 that's locked to vodafone. Hoping to get it unlocked in the next few days. As the phone takes micro sim do i just cut the sim down to size myself? I thought i would be able to order a mirco sim on here but it seems there are only two options which are:

Dual SIM - for phones that take a regular or micro SIM

Nano SIM - for an iPhone 5/5c/5s

If anyone can advise on how much it costs to unlock the xperia z1 or if there is any free way of doing it I'd appreciate it 🙂

I know that in the past 48 supplied mini/regular SIMs and mini SIMs separately.

At some point they switched to dual SIMs (mini SIM which could be popped out to become a micro SIM).- and also nano SIMs separately.

I have a few mini SIMs that I got a while ago but I recently (within the last few weeks) got a replacement dual SIM and it's definitely like the O2 one pictured above. I'm using it as a mini SIM at the moment but just received a new phone that takes a micro SIM. When I switch over to this I will pop out the micro SIM from the dual SIM and use that in the new phone. The dual SIM is scored around the outline of the micro SIM so that it can be popped out. Look carefully at your SIM to double check in case yours is the same.

You can post a picture using the imageuploader[1].gif button in the post message toolbar. You then browse to the image stored on your local computer. If it's on your phone then you need to transfer it over first.

Hope this helps.

Order the dual SIM. It works as a mini (regular) SIM or you can pop a micro SIM out of it for phones that need one. Like this:

If you can't get Vodafone to unlock it officially and hopefully for free you should Google and shop around for options on unlocking your phone. There may be free ways to unlock it but you'll need to search for them yourself and be aware that lots of sites purporting to offer free unlocks may be dodgy.

Hope this helps.

That's odd.
I got a new dual sim from 48 recently and it's like the o2 one picture above.
I'm using it as s mini/regular sim for now until my new phone which takes a micro arrives soon.
Then I'll pop out the micro sim.
When did you get the dual sim that you have?
Cutting mini to micro is an option but not ideal and there always a risk of damaging it when doing this.

Hope this helps.

Come to think of it mine did come like that, but once ya pop it out it's just a regular sim, my problem is how do ya get it to a mirco sim. I think carphone warehouse might cut them so the panic is off now 🙂 Thanks for your help

The picture above is the same as the 48 dual sim.
It's a mini/regular sim enclosing a micro sim that can be popped out.
You should not have to cut anything.
I don't really understand what you got.
Can you post a pic?

Think I need to order new sim then as mine isn't as you've described, thanks for your help 🙂

When did you get the one that you have?

If it was a while ago then it could well be a mini/regular only SIM.

If it was a dual SIM ordered recently then it should be the same as mine - i.e. mini SIM with a micro popout.
