Phone shows I'm roaming

Gidday, I registered my phone about a week ago, and it immediatlely show me as roaming. It still does. This means I have no data when I'm not connected to wi-fi. I'm hoping I'm not also running up roaming charges. Any suggestions as to how I fix this?  (I'm using a galaxy note ,android version4.1.2 Jellybean ) Thanks in advance.

You are not running up any extra charges.

 

However data access should still work even when it looks like you're roaming. You might want to double check your APN settings:

and maybe log a support request to see if 48 can help if necessary:

 

http://help.48months.ie/requests/new

 

Make sure to enable the [national] data roaming and see if that gets rid of the roaming "R" on the signal bars. However this doesn't always work for everybody. Worked for me on one phone but not another...
