Hi i just emailed a few moments ago as i got a new phone and my sim is locked. I was told that the phone must be locked however this is not the case as I have just tried a friends sim and there were no problems. It appears to be the sim that is locked now the phone...can you help to unlock the sim please?

The SIM PIN came with the SIM.

If you don't know it then just enter the wrong PIN several (3?) times and it will then prompt for the PUK which is available from your online account (bottom of this page):

This is all explained in the original key post that I linked to above.

Hope this helps.

Are you sure that it's not just asking for the SIM PIN (PIN1)?

Try your SIM in your friend's unlocked phone to see if it prompts there too.

I forgot my PIN code

SIM PIN locking is a per SIM setting and can be disabled in the phone settings.

Hope this helps.

Ya it's definitely the sim that's locked as I've tried the sim in a friends phone and it won't work there either!just wondering how to unlock the sim if I can't get into settings to do so in the first place?

Does it not prompt for the SIM PIN?

I also see now that you seen to be posting from an iPhone so is that the phone that you're using?

Does this tally with what you see and do the instructions help at all?

I'm currently in the uk so I'm using an English sim in my phone!yes it asks for the sim pin which I do not know!
